Air India and Singapore Airlines (SIA) are expanding their commercial cooperation to provide travellers with more booking and flight options between India and Singapore.
The first phase of initiatives comes under the Commercial Cooperation Framework Agreement signed by the two airlines in January 2026.
Standalone booking options from 15 October
From 15 October 2026, eligible flights operated by Air India and Singapore Airlines between India and Singapore will be available for standalone booking through the other airline’s website, mobile application and appointed travel agencies.
The change removes the existing requirement under which an eligible Air India-operated codeshare flight booked through Singapore Airlines must include an SIA-operated flight, and vice versa.
The expanded arrangement covers 126 weekly flights between Singapore and eight Indian cities:
- Ahmedabad
- Bengaluru
- Chennai
- Delhi
- Hyderabad
- Kochi
- Kolkata
- Mumbai
The change will give passengers greater flexibility when selecting flights between the two countries.
Expanded frequent-flyer benefits
The airlines have also been strengthening reciprocal benefits for their frequent-flyer programmes.
In April 2026, Air India and SIA expanded mileage accrual benefits by increasing the eligible booking classes and revising earn rates across cabin classes. Members of Air India Maharaja Club and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer can now earn miles on a wider range of eligible flights operated by either airline.
Further reciprocal benefits are planned from the second quarter of 2027.
Maharaja Club Platinum and KrisFlyer PPS Club members will receive priority check-in and boarding privileges on eligible routes. Maharaja Club Silver and KrisFlyer Elite Silver members will receive additional baggage allowances and priority boarding benefits on eligible routes.
Further connectivity initiatives planned
Air India and Singapore Airlines are also working on additional initiatives covering schedule connectivity, corporate travel and the overall passenger experience.
The airlines intend to improve schedule connectivity to reduce layovers and waiting times, while also developing enhanced offerings for corporate customers.
The expanded cooperation builds on the existing relationship between the two carriers. Air India and Singapore Airlines currently have a codeshare agreement covering 77 destinations across 27 countries and territories.
Through their hubs in Delhi, Mumbai and Singapore, the airlines provide connectivity to destinations across Asia, Europe, North America, Australia and other international markets.
The latest phase of cooperation represents a further expansion of the commercial relationship between the two airlines, with wider booking access introduced from October and enhanced reciprocal frequent-flyer benefits planned for 2027.
