Air India, the flag carrier airline of India, is set to enhance its services on European routes starting July 1, 2024. The airline aims to increase connectivity and frequency, catering to the growing demand for travel between India and Europe.

One of the significant enhancements includes the increase in the frequency of the Delhi to Copenhagen route. Currently operating four times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, Air India will now boost the frequency to five times a week, adding Mondays to its schedule. Despite the change in frequency, the timings for flights AI157 from Delhi to Copenhagen and AI158 from Copenhagen to Delhi will remain unchanged. The flight AI157 departs Delhi at 14:20 and arrives in Copenhagen at 18:45, while the return flight AI158 leaves Copenhagen at 20:45 and lands in Delhi at 07:30 the following day.

The Delhi-Copenhagen route history reflects a steady increase in frequency since its restart on March 1, 2023, with three weekly flights. This was later increased to four times a week on December 16, 2023. With this latest enhancement, the route will now operate five times a week, further improving accessibility between the two cities.

In addition to the Copenhagen route, Air India is also set to bolster its services on the Milan and Amsterdam routes. Starting June 21, the airline will add frequencies to both destinations. The Mumbai to Heathrow route, which previously operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, will now see Boeing 777s taking over. This transition has freed up capacity, enabling Air India to deploy it on other European routes.

Both Milan and Amsterdam flights will be operated daily using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Currently, Amsterdam is served four times a week, while Milan is served five times a week. With these enhancements, Air India aims to strengthen its presence in the European market, offering passengers more options and flexibility in travel.

Furthermore, the increase in frequencies to Amsterdam and Milan aligns with the growing demand for travel between India and the Netherlands as well as Italy.

Air India currently operates to nine destinations in Europe, including London (Heathrow and Gatwick), Birmingham, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Paris, Milan, and Vienna. The airline’s commitment to enhancing its services reflects its dedication to providing passengers with a seamless travel experience and fostering stronger ties between India and Europe.
