In response to the growing demand for travel between India and Thailand, Indian airlines are stepping up their game. SpiceJet is the latest to join the fray, announcing the launch of its Delhi to Phuket route effective May 31, 2024. This move comes hot on the heels of recent announcements by Air India and IndiGo to ramp up their frequencies on the same route.
SpiceJet’s Delhi to Phuket service will operate daily using a Boeing B737 aircraft, significantly increasing the connectivity between the two destinations. With this addition, the frequency of flights between Delhi and Phuket will soar to 35 times a week from June 1, 2024, up from the current 14 times.
Spicejet (35x Weekly):
- SG89 | DEL – HKT | 0900 – 1515

IndiGo, meanwhile, is set to operate two daily flights between Delhi and Phuket using Airbus A320 aircraft, providing travelers with even more options and flexibility. Not to be outdone, Air India is also boosting its services on the Delhi to Phuket route, adding 13 weekly flights effective June 1, 2024. Air India’s flights will be available daily, except on Wednesdays.
IndiGo (14x Weekly):

The timing of these expansions couldn’t be better, as Thailand recently extended its 30-day visa exemption for Indian and Taiwanese tourists until November 11, 2024. This move is expected to further fuel the already burgeoning tourism between the two countries.
Indian passport holders can now enjoy hassle-free travel to Thailand, making it easier than ever to explore the vibrant culture, stunning beaches, and delicious cuisine that the Southeast Asian nation has to offer.
