Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), marked a significant milestone as it commenced revenue flights with its new Embraer E190-E2 fleet on 7th of May 2024. The inaugural flight, named Explorer 3.0, departed from Singapore’s Changi Airport bound for Krabi, Thailand.
The event was distinguished by the presence of Mr. Chee Hong Tat, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance, who graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Aviation partners also joined in the celebration, highlighting the collaborative spirit within the industry.
This inaugural flight on May 7th saw the first E190-E2 jet undertaking its journey to Krabi and Hat Yai, further solidifying Scoot’s connectivity in the region. With the second E190-E2 aircraft already in Singapore and undergoing final preparations, the airline anticipates a swift integration of the new fleet into its operations. The remaining seven aircraft are slated for delivery by the end of 2025.

As of May 7th, 2024, Scoot boasts a robust network encompassing 67 destinations across 15 countries and territories spanning Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe. This latest addition to its fleet is poised to enhance Scoot’s operational efficiency and passenger experience, further solidifying its position as a leading player in the low-cost carrier segment.
