Noida International Airport (NIA) has formally entered into a strategic partnership with IndiGo, India’s leading airline in terms of fleet size and market share. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to solidify IndiGo’s role as the inaugural or launch carrier for the upcoming Noida International Airport, emphasizing its dedication to bolstering the burgeoning Indian aviation market.
This collaboration between NIA and IndiGo is poised to usher in a new era of air connectivity, not only within Uttar Pradesh but extending beyond state borders. The partnership aims to foster innovative initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and elevate the overall customer experience, contributing to the growth and vitality of the Indian aviation industry.
The first phase of Noida International Airport is slated to commence operations by the end of 2024, boasting a single runway and a terminal designed to handle up to 12 million passengers annually. This initial phase sets the stage for future expansions, with the airport’s ambitious plans calling for four phases in total.
Upon completion of the fourth phase, Noida International Airport aspires to emerge as a colossal aviation hub, accommodating a staggering 70 million passengers each year. This visionary project aligns with India’s broader ambitions to fortify its aviation infrastructure and position the country as a key player in the global aviation landscape.
