IndiGo, India’s leading airline, has set its sights on the culturally rich city of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan as its latest domestic addition to the 6E network. This announcement marks the inclusion of Jaisalmer as the 81st domestic and 113th overall destination in IndiGo’s ever-expanding route map. The airline is all set to inaugurate daily connections between Jaisalmer and key cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad, starting from October 12, 2023. This strategic move is expected to not only invigorate the local tourism sector but also contribute to trade and mobility by effectively linking Jaisalmer to prominent commercial and industrial hubs across the nation.

The unveiling of these new routes is poised to play a pivotal role in fostering economic growth, enhancing regional connectivity, and nurturing tourism in the “Golden City” of Jaisalmer. Travelers can look forward to a seamless flying experience as IndiGo introduces convenient travel options for both business and leisure purposes.

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo,

“We are extremely pleased to add Jaisalmer to our extensive domestic network. Also known as the golden city, distinguished by its yellow sandstone architecture, flights to/from Jaisalmer will establish a connection with other regions of the country through major commercial and industrial capitals such as Delhi and Mumbai. By announcing air connectivity to Jaisalmer, we also aim to provide easy access to neighboring areas while contributing to economic activity and opportunities. IndiGo has been at the forefront of enhancing regional connectivity, and continues its commitment to providing affordable, on-time, courteous, and hassle-free travel experiences.”

Jaisalmer, with its timeless charm, has captured the imagination of travelers and history enthusiasts alike. The city’s rich heritage, magnificent forts, and intricate architecture draw visitors from all corners of the globe. The introduction of these new flight routes will definitely help in making Jaisalmer more accessible to domestic and international tourists, further propelling the city onto the global tourism stage.
