Fly91, the latest addition to the country’s regional carriers, expands its fleet and route network. The airline, headquartered in Goa, has welcomed its second ATR 72-600 turboprop, registration VT-FIC, which has landed at MOPA, North Goa Airport (GOX), marking a significant step forward in its operational capacity. FLY91 has announced the lease of its first two ATR 72-600 aircraft at Dubai Airshow in January this year.
Fly91 is set to inaugurate operations on multiple routes, bolstering connectivity between key destinations. Commencing from today, April 18th, 2024, the airline will serve routes connecting Goa to Agatti and Jalgaon, alongside Hyderabad to Jalgaon, as part of its strategic expansion plan. This development comes precisely one month after the carrier’s commercial debut on March 18th, 2024.
Under the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN, Fly91 has been entrusted with vital routes aimed at enhancing accessibility to various regions across India. These routes encompass a diverse range of destinations, including Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, and Nanded in Maharashtra, as well as Agatti in Lakshadweep. Additionally, Fly91 will facilitate connections to prominent business and leisure hubs such as Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, and Pune, catering to both business travelers and tourists alike.
Fly91 derives its name from India’s international telephone code, symbolizing its commitment to bridging the gap in regional connectivity across the country. With a focus on linking “tier two and tier three towns,” the airline aims to play a pivotal role in facilitating travel and fostering economic growth in underserved regions.
The expansion of Fly91’s fleet and route network signifies a significant stride in India’s aviation landscape, promising greater accessibility and convenience for passengers traveling to and from regional destinations.
