British Airways is set to elevate its travel experience for passengers on the London Heathrow to Hyderabad route by reintroducing its Boeing B777 fleet, effective April 1, 2024. The decision comes in response to the burgeoning demand for air travel between these two dynamic hubs.
What adds an extra layer of excitement for travelers is that the Boeing B777s deployed on this route will feature the airline’s cutting-edge Club Suites. This state-of-the-art offering promises an unparalleled level of comfort and luxury for passengers. Aircraft will boast a seating configuration of 48 in Business Class Premium (J), 40 in Economy/Coach Premium (W), and 184 in Economy/Coach (Y), making a total of 272 seats on the Boeing B777-200ER jet.
In a strategic move, British Airways will also shift its London Heathrow to Bangalore (LHR-BLR) service to the Airbus A350-1000, effective March 31, 2024. This shift indicates the airline’s commitment to deploying modern and efficient aircraft across its network.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad International Airport has been witnessing a remarkable surge in passenger traffic, recording over 12 million passengers in the first half of the fiscal year 2024. To accommodate this growing demand, the airport recently operationalized its additional east area, covering an expansive 6.07 lakh sq ft. This new space has been seamlessly integrated with the existing terminal as part of the fourth phase of the airport’s ongoing expansion initiative.
The expansion efforts extend beyond the terminal, reaching the airside with the addition of 85 aircraft stands, a ground service equipment tunnel, and four new rapid taxiways. These enhancements are geared towards not only meeting the current demand but also bolstering the airport’s operational capabilities for the foreseeable future.
Hyderabad International Airport will soon host a second European service, complementing British Airways’ daily operations from London Heathrow. The introduction of Lufthansa Airline flight between Frankfurt and Hyderabad 3x weekly on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 294 seats in three classes (26 Business Class/21 Premium Economy/247 Economy) starting January 16, 2024, providing a direct link to India’s pharmaceutical and technology industries. The new flight from Germany will offer seamless connections to Europe and North America.
