In a strategic move to bolster its international footprint, Akasa Air, India’s renowned airline, is set to introduce direct flights between Mumbai and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, starting from July 15th, 2024. The airline aims to provide seamless connectivity and enhance travel options for passengers between these key destinations.
Initially, Akasa Air will operate daily flights between Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah. The frequency will then increase to 12 flights per week from July 21st, 2024, ensuring greater flexibility for travelers.
The flight schedule is as follows:
- QP561: Departing from Mumbai at 19:35, arriving in Jeddah at 22:25.
- QP562: Departing from Jeddah at 23:55, arriving in Mumbai at 07:25 the following day.
Additionally, flights QP559 and QP560 will operate five times a week (excluding Wednesdays and Saturdays) with the following schedule:
- QP559: Departing from Mumbai at 17:40, arriving in Jeddah at 20:30.
- QP560: Departing from Jeddah at 21:30, arriving in Mumbai at 05:10 the next day.
This move marks a significant milestone for Akasa Air as it expands its international network, with Jeddah being the airline’s second international destination after the successful launch of flights to Doha on March 28th, 2024.
