In a significant development for the Indian aviation industry, the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium, the successful resolution applicant of Jet Airways, has received the renewal of the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for the airline from the aviation regulator, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 28, 2023.

After enduring a period of uncertainty, the renewal represents a fresh start for the airline, instilling hope in its loyal fan base and the aviation industry as a whole.

Commenting on this development, the Jalan-Kalrock consortium said in a Press Release

“JKC expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the aviation regulator, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and all other stakeholders, in showcasing their faith in JKC and in the revival of Jet Airways.”

Jet Airways, once considered India’s premiere airline, ceased operations in April 2019 due to financial constraints. However, with the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium’s emergence as the successful resolution applicant, the prospects for the airline’s resurgence have grown significantly.

The Jalan-Kalrock Consortium is a conglomerate of experienced investors led by Murari Lal Jalan and Florian Fritsch. The consortium won the bid for Jet Airways in a closely-watched resolution process and is committed to reviving the airline to its former prominence.
