Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) has expanded its passenger services with the launch of Swirl Transit Hotel, an 80-room airport hotel designed to provide short-stay accommodation for passengers travelling through the airport.
Launched by Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), the two-floor hotel is located on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 1. It is aimed at passengers with long layovers, early departures, late arrivals and other short-stay requirements.
Four-hour and overnight stays
Swirl Transit Hotel offers passengers the flexibility to choose between four-hour and overnight stays, allowing travellers to rest, freshen up or work without leaving the airport environment.
The hotel has 80 rooms across six categories, ranging from 130 sq. ft. to 410 sq. ft. The categories include Superior Single, Superior Double, Superior Twin, Superior Accessible, Junior Suite and Executive Suite.
Designed for transit passengers
The hotel provides a range of facilities aimed at both leisure and business travellers. These include high-speed Wi-Fi, smart televisions, dedicated workstations, electronic safes, tea and coffee facilities, premium bed and bath linen, toiletries and in-room dining.
Additional services include express laundry, concierge assistance, 24-hour housekeeping, pick-up and drop services and wake-up calls.
The property also features a 24-hour all-day dining restaurant with seating for 40 guests, alongside round-the-clock in-room dining, grab-and-go options and a bar.
Swirl to expand to Guwahati
AAHL plans to expand the Swirl Transit Hotel concept to Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) in Guwahati.
A 21-room property is planned on Level 3 of the Arrivals area within the airport-secured zone of Terminal 2. The Guwahati hotel is expected to offer hourly and overnight stays, dining facilities and hospitality services.
The property will cater to transit passengers, arriving travellers, passengers with extended waiting periods and business travellers. Dedicated workstations and meeting-friendly areas are also planned for passengers who need to work between flights.
Strengthening NMIA’s passenger ecosystem
The Swirl launch comes as Navi Mumbai International Airport continues to expand its passenger and non-aeronautical services.
NMIA commenced commercial operations on 25 December 2025 and began international operations in July 2026. The addition of an airport-based transit hotel gives passengers another option for rest and short stays while strengthening the airport’s wider hospitality ecosystem.
AAHL said the Swirl concept forms part of its broader focus on expanding non-aeronautical services across its airport network, with the company seeing potential to introduce the concept at additional airports.
For passengers, the new facility adds an important convenience: the ability to rest, refresh or work without leaving the airport during a layover or extended waiting period.
