Union Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu officially assumed his role as the head of the Ministry of Civil Aviation in New Delhi yesterday. Accompanying him were Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, Civil Aviation Secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam, and other senior officials.

In his address to the media, Naidu expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the vital responsibility of overseeing the aviation sector. He highlighted that his appointment as a young and dynamic leader reflects a forward-looking strategy aimed at shaping the future of India’s aviation industry over the next 25 years.

Naidu extended his thanks to the people of Srikakulam and Andhra Pradesh, acknowledged the support of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and paid tribute to his late father, Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu, a respected politician from the state.

With the blessing of my father late. Shri Yerran Naidu, My leaders @ncbn garu, @narendramodi ji, & people of Sklm, I took charge as the Minister of Civil Aviation. I intend to make indian aviation sector one of the global leaders in this tenure with a motive of “Ease of Flying”. pic.twitter.com/7ZmhZ6OrVn

The new minister outlined his vision to create an “ease of flying” environment, aiming to make air travel more accessible and convenient for all citizens, particularly focusing on expanding connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

In alignment with Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India (Viksit Bharat), Naidu announced plans to implement a 100-day action plan to jumpstart progress in the aviation sector. This initiative is seen as a foundation for achieving long-term goals as India approaches its 100th year of independence in 2047. Naidu emphasized the importance of using technology to enhance passenger experience, including leveraging artificial intelligence and social media to address passenger concerns. He assured that the ministry would prioritize passenger comfort and convenience in all policy decisions.

Naidu also detailed specific initiatives aimed at improving air connectivity, promoting eco-friendly practices, and accelerating infrastructure development across the nation. He pledged to collaborate closely with state governments, industry stakeholders, and alliance partners to achieve these objectives. On the Greenfield airport project in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district, Naidu committed to expediting its completion.

The Union Minister reaffirmed the government’s steadfast commitment to making India the world’s leading domestic aviation market and expressed confidence in the robust leadership of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in steering the country towards prosperity and development.
