Three Indian airlines have made a remarkable entry into the prestigious Skytrax World’s Top 100 Airlines list for 2024, announced during the World Airline Awards. Vistara, IndiGo, and Air India have all secured their spots, showcasing the growing prominence of Indian carriers on the global stage.
Vistara has once again distinguished itself by ranking as the 16th Best Airline in the world, maintaining its position for the second consecutive year. This accomplishment makes Vistara the only Indian airline to be featured in the World’s Top 20. Additionally, Vistara has been recognized as the 8th Best Airline in Asia, further solidifying its reputation for excellence in service and passenger experience.
IndiGo, another leading Indian airline, has secured the 52nd position in the global ranking. This achievement reflects IndiGo’s commitment to delivering reliable and efficient service, reinforcing its status as a major player in the aviation industry.
The new entrant to the Skytrax Top 100 list is Air India, which has claimed the 90th position. This marks a significant milestone for Air India as it continues to revamp and enhance its service offerings under new management and strategic initiatives.
On the global front, Qatar Airways has been voted the World’s Best Airline for 2024. This is the eighth time Qatar Airways has received the Airline of the Year title in the 25-year history of the awards, reaffirming its leading position in the aviation industry.
AirAsia continues its dominance in the low-cost sector by winning the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award for the 14th consecutive year since 2010. Scoot, another notable low-cost carrier, has been awarded the title of the World’s Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline.
Plaza Premium has been honored as the World’s Best Independent Airport Lounge operator, with its lounge at Rome’s Fiumicino Airport being rated the best in 2024.
Star Alliance received accolades as the World’s Best Airline Alliance and also clinched the Best Airline Alliance Lounge award for its new lounge at Paris CDG Airport.
Established in 1999, the World Airline Awards are regarded as ‘the Oscars of the aviation industry.’ The awards are based on the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey, which is conducted independently and impartially by Skytrax, with all survey costs and event expenses covered by the organizers.
