Piper Aircraft, a renowned manufacturer of general aviation aircraft, has announced its excitement over securing three new fleet customers in India. The three companies, Skynex Aero, Dunes Aviation Academy, and Vman Aero Services, have collectively ordered 47 units of the cutting-edge Archer DX aircraft, further cementing India’s position as one of the fastest-growing commercial aviation markets in the world.

Skynex Aero, has placed an order for 27 Archer DX aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery in 2024 and 2025. Dunes Aviation Academy and Vman Aero Services have ordered 10 Archer DXs each, all of which are set to be delivered in 2024.

Ron Gunnarson, VP of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support at Piper said

“The Archer DX is the ideal diesel-powered professional flight training aircraft. It offers the durability and reliability that pilots have come to expect from the Piper Archer, along with the efficiency and flexibility provided by the Continental CD-155 turbocharged diesel engine,”

He further added

“It is also equipped with the Garmin G1000 NXi Avionics Suite, which can be further enhanced from a large selection of additional avionics equipment options.”

The new fleet additions will join an existing pool of Archer DXs already operational in India, including the 10 units recently acquired by Chimes Aviation. The surge in demand for Piper’s Archer DX aircraft underscores India’s significant growth potential in the commercial aviation sector.

Chuck Glass, Piper’s Director of International Fleet Sales said

“The Continental CD-155 turbocharged engine has a service ceiling of 14,100 feet or 4,298 meters, burns less than 6 gallons per hour at 65% power, and provides a very quiet and effortless flight experience for both students and instructors. This aircraft performs as smooth as a turboprop and has ample power for use in all aspects of commercial flight training. It sets the standard for modern, cost-effective flight training.”

The Archer DX’s state-of-the-art features and performance capabilities have made it an attractive choice for flight training institutions and aviation companies in India and across the globe.
