IndiGo has announced the termination of its direct flight services between Kolhapur and Tirupati, effective December 15. The daily flight, which primarily catered to pilgrims, will no longer be operational, forcing devotees to opt for connecting flights via Hyderabad.
IndiGo initially introduced this specific route in 2019, receiving a positive response from passengers. Even after a hiatus due to the pandemic, the airline successfully restarted the service in May 2021, maintaining uninterrupted operations until now.
As of now, IndiGo boasts a fleet of 333 aircraft, consisting of 175 A320neo, 92 A321neo, 20 A320Ceo, 42 ATR 72-600, and 3 A321 Freighters. IndiGo recently announced that it has surpassed the 2000 daily scheduled flights mark, showcasing its robust operational capacity.
With an industry-leading order book nearing 1000 aircraft, IndiGo has set ambitious goals for the future. The airline aims to double its current size by the end of the decade, emphasizing not only an expansion of its domestic presence but also a significant increase in its international reach. IndiGo’s growth strategy aligns with its commitment to maintaining a strong position in the competitive aviation industry.
