The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has granted administrative approval for the expansion of Belagavi Airport, marking a significant development for air travel in the region. The AAI has also announced the floating of tenders for various upgradation works, including the expansion of the passenger terminal building, apron, runway, aerobridges, and other facilities at Belagavi airport. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 229.57 Crore.
In addition to Belagavi Airport, the AAI has also included the upgradation of Hubballi Airport in the tender. The total estimated cost for both airports is Rs. 457.72 Crore, which includes taxes but excludes GST. This move is expected to enhance the infrastructure and overall travel experience for passengers at both airports.
The expansion plans for Belagavi and Hubballi airports are part of the AAI’s ongoing efforts to modernize and upgrade airports across the country, keeping pace with the growing demand for air travel. These developments are expected to bolster connectivity, encourage tourism, and attract more business opportunities to the region.
